Lombok Transport Options

Bus

Bus is one of the biggest transportation in Lombok which able to load 50 passenger on bus, there area two option you may chose for this kind of transportation : 

• Private Bus which you can book whit your big group only then you can make a special treatment and special tour schedule by your team 
• Public Bus Service, every body always call "BUS BANDARA" that able to bring you From the International Airport  Mataram or Senggigi. another way if you have a small group or a family group you may check the Transportation from Lombok Airport to Gili Trawangann

Bemo

Bemo is one of the main transportation for local people to cover all daily activity like school bus, but most of the transportation for long distances the local people use for it, if they have many stuff to load that better use bemo as a kind of transportation. 

 

This is a small van with an open back and a bench seat along either side. This is a common form of transport in  Lombok. They are used widely by the locals. They are very cheap and best for short to medium distances. These are best used around Senggigi and Mataram.

Taxi

Starting 2013 until know taxi have been a massive transportation in Lombok due to people requirement, many tourist safely to use taxi as basic transportation cause we can found in every main place :

Taxi’s are a great way to get around Lombok. They are all metered and relatively inexpensive. If you require a taxi late at night or in a less developed area you should always book. Otherwise, taxi’s can be found in most tourist destinations and resorts.

Ojek

This is a motorbike taxi (i.e. you sit on the back as a passenger). Especially great for independent travellers.

Hire a Driver

A great way to see the island, get off the beaten track and for longer distances. You can choose your own itinerary but have someone drive you around who knows the road conditions and places to go.

Cidomo

These are a donkey drawn cart, predominantly used on the Gili Islands but can be found throughout the mainland. On the Gili Islands, this would be your quickest form of transport as there is no motorized transport here. So if you need to get from one end of the island to the other quickly, this is your best bet.

Car Hire

Hire a car and drive yourself if your comfortable on the roads and have good navigating skills. For this, you will need an International drivers license. And also note, you will be responsible for the cost of any damage to the car.

Motorbike Hire

If you are confident riding a motorbike and have your international drivers licence (including motorcycle license) then hiring a motorbike is a fun way to see the island. If your not comfortable, I would avoid this option.

SIRE BEACH LOMBOK

North Lombok is one of the the best agriculture  product you may find a lot, there are so many fruit and trees born on this place cause the location on the feet of Rinjani Mountain.

In this beach you can also do many interesting activities, such as canoeing, snorkeling, or swimming using used tire. If you don’t bring equipments to do those activities, you can rent it at rental place near the beach. In the afternoon, you can also fishing or seeing seagull chasing the waves.

Around the beach there are palm trees line up orderly and the green grass which look like a green carpet. This condition makes Sire beach fit to be family recreation place.

Sire beach is included to be a favorite place to visit for domestic visitors to spend their holidays. The beach which located in north west of Lombok island serves a beautiful view including the view of Rinjani mount which can be seen in the east side. This beach extends in 3,8 km with curving coast line. The sand is not completely white but it has soft texture. The waves are calm, makes it perfect to do water tourism.

If you want to stay in, there are accommodations around it which have view direct to the beach. There you can spend the nights by listening soft sound of waves, and the morning, you can enjoy the sunrise. You can also do golfing here, since there is golf field nearby the beach.

Beside as a recreation place, Sire is also a place to hold people’s entertainment events and traditional ceremony. On certain events, there is dangdut music (original music from Indonesia) show to entertain visitors and local people. This beach also used as a place to do traditional ceremony of larungan ( traditional ceremony by floating various sacrifices and ritual offering to the sea) and sea party.

This beach located around 43 km from Mataram city by western coast of Lombok island with route Mataram-Ampenan-Senggigi-Bukit Malimbu-Pemenang-Sire. To reach it, needs 1 hour trip by personal vehicle or motorbike. You can also get it by route Gunung Sari-Sidemen-Pusuk-Pemenang-Sire.

You can also take public transportation with route Mataram-Ampenan then Ampenan-Tanjung. Another alternative by public transportation is with route Rembiga-Tanjung.

Every route you passed, has its own beauty. If you use route which passing Senggigi beach, you’ll be served with the beauty of west coastal view of Lombok island. While if you choose the second route, you will enjoy Pusuk tropical wood which has many monkeys wander in the street’s side. If you’re not in hurry, you could spend little time communicating with those primates by giving them banana.

For the casual visitor who just want to enjoy kendahan temple, the camera is the stuff that should you bring to this place, because you will find many interesting things to capture. If the weather is sunny, you can see Mount Agung on Bali island towering. Also, if you come in the afternoon, the sinking sun and the sky color changes from afternoon to dusk and then into the night is a sight you must not miss. Then as the night before laangit flickering star-studded evening will, and the more boisterous sound waves audible.

When Lebaran arrived, Muslims in Lombok will flock to flood the beach in front of the temple. They will enjoy a rollicking opor chicken, rice cake, chicken and serundeng Taliwang. At times like that you'll see the beautiful harmony in diversity. Although they are different, they still get along and live together in harmony.

Because Pura Batu Bolong is a complex area of Senggigi Beach, you do not have to worry about facilities and accommodation. In this area there are plenty of lodging, ranging from cheap hostels, hotels, and resorts famous. You can choose in accordance with the fees you prepare.
